Specialty Tax Services Associate, Business Incentives Group, Accounting Methods - Summer 2026 (Multiple Locations)
The Associate, STS Accounting Methods assists in the delivery of federal tax consulting services related to accounting methods. This position is responsible for supporting client engagements by preparing technical work products, conducting research, and maintaining documentation to help clients optimize their tax positions and comply with federal tax regulations.
Job Duties:
- Collects and organizes client financial data and documentation for use in federal tax accounting method analyses
- Prepares accounting method change requests and section 481(a) computations under supervision
- Maintains and organizes work papers and supporting documentation for client deliverables
- Conducts basic research on federal tax accounting method issues and summarizes findings for team review
- Communicates technical issues and data challenges to team members and management
- Coordinates with core tax teams to ensure timely completion of deliverables
- Participates in client and internal meetings to discuss project status and deliverables
- Supports business development activities by gathering and analyzing client information
- Assists in the preparation of proposals and presentations for prospective clients

Education:
Experience:
- Accounting based internship, preferred
License/
Certifications:
- Currently working towards Certified Public Accountant license, Enrolled Agent certification, or Juris Doctorate degree (or the equivalent of one of these designations), preferred
Software:
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel & Word, preferred
Language:

Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.
Salary ranges by location:
- California Range: $85,000 - $120,000
- Colorado Range: $78,000 - $120,000
- Illinois Range: $80,000 - $100,000
- Maryland Range: $85,000 - $100,000
- Massachusetts Range: $85,000 - $120,000
- Minnesota Range: $72,000 - $100,000
- New Jersey Range: $80,000 - $100,000
- NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $85,000 - $120,000
- Ohio Range: $71,000 - $75,000
- Washington Range: $78,000 - $120,000
- Washington DC Range: $85,000 - $100,000
