The Role

Responsibilities include preparation and review of journal entries, oversight of accounting for balance sheet reconciliations, financial statement analytics, and accumulation of details utilized to compile the quarterly statement of cash flows and footnote disclosures. You will ensure the quality of work delivered by the team’s Staff Accountants and assist their supervisor(s) to foster the Staff Accountants' career development. Additional responsibilities include assisting in the enhancement of internal controls and participating in special projects that improve or streamline accounting processes.

  • Preparation of monthly journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and analytics over significant account balances, including incentive compensation and stock‑based compensation
  • Assist in optimizing accounting procedures and special projects, as required
  • Field and resolve inquiries from management, other departments within Hyatt, and external auditors
  • Contribute to compliance with Sarbanes‑Oxley, including documentation of process areas and testing of key controls
  • Provide financial support to HR Compensation, Benefits, and Payroll teams
  • Review quarterly schedules for external reporting
  • Demonstrate commitment to Hyatt's core values
Qualifications Experience Required
  • 3‑5 years of experience in corporate accounting, public accounting, or other equivalent role
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or other related field
  • Strong PC skills, including Microsoft Office
Experience Preferred
  • Master's degree in accounting, finance, or business
  • Certified Public Accountant
  • Supervisory responsibilities or other experience that requires ensuring the quality of work delivered by others
  • Financial ERP Systems (Oracle, Hyperion)
