We are seeking a detail-oriented Experienced Senior Tax Associate to join our team in our Chicago, IL office. You will provide services to predominantly US‑inbound international businesses (primarily German/European) in the manufacturing and distribution industry. What you will do:- Review (80%) and preparation (20%) Federal and state corporate and partnership tax returns
- Assist with the preparation and review of income tax provisions for corporate taxpayers under ASC 740
- Act as a point of contact for clients, answering ad‑hoc tax‑related inquiries, handling notices, and addressing client requests
- Manage multiple engagements simultaneously, ensuring timely completion of work while maintaining high standards of accuracy and quality
- Perform technical tax research on a variety of Federal, state, and international tax topics
- Stay up to date with changes in tax laws and regulations; perform in‑depth tax searches and deliver timely, high‑quality services that exceed client expectations
- Provide training, coaching, and performance feedback to staff associates and interns
- Minimum 3‑5 years of experience in federal and state income tax, including experience in public accounting
- BA/BS degree in Accounting or Masters degree in Accounting/Taxation
- Experience in the manufacturing and distribution industry
- CCH Axcess tax experience
- Excellent research, writing and communication skills in English
- Process‑oriented with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Solid organizational skills with the ability to multi‑task
- Demonstrate responsibility, take ownership of tasks, and collaborate effectively as a team player
- Strong corporate tax compliance and tax provision experience
- CPA license or similar certification
