Senior Property Accountant

A leading national real estate firm is seeking a Senior Property Accountant to join its growing finance team. This company develops and manages cutting-edge residential communities across the U.S. and is known for its innovative, people-first culture.

As a Senior Property Accountant, you’ll play a key role in delivering accurate and insightful financial reporting for a diverse portfolio of operational properties. You’ll collaborate closely with operations, support investor reporting, assist in audits, and help lead process improvements.

What You’ll Do

• Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements in accordance with GAAP
• Analyze general ledger activity and investigate budget variances
• Partner with operations to ensure timely and accurate reporting for each property
• Support lender and investor reporting, including financial packages and debt covenant calculations
• Review and reconcile bank accounts, fixed assets, and journal entries
• Assist in onboarding newly acquired properties and preparing acquisition entries
• Coordinate with auditors and respond to financial inquiries
• Calculate ownership distributions and support cash flow analysis
• Lead and support accounting policy training across departments
• Assist with annual budgets and provide ad hoc reporting as needed

What You’ll Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• 4+ years of relevant experience, ideally in property or real estate accounting
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards
• Proficiency in Excel and accounting software (e.g., Entrata, Yardi, Sage preferred)
• Detail-oriented mindset with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude

Nice to Have

• Previous exposure to accounting systems such as Entrata, Yardi, or Sage
