ITW Specialty Films produces high‑performance coated, metalized, and engineered films serving markets including Financial Cards, Secure , Medical Packaging, and Holographics. With facilities across North America and Europe, the division leverages deep converting expertise, advanced coating technologies, and agile manufacturing to meet complex customer specifications.
- Set up and operate multi‑blade slitting machines to convert large rolls of coated polypropylene or polyester film into customer‑specified widths and lengths.
- Thread, align, splice, and tension materials through unwind, web‑path, and rewind sections; verify proper blade spacing and core setup.
- Perform in‑process quality checks (plugging, gauging rolls, edge quality, wrinkles, telescoping, tension balance).
- Enter production, inventory, scrap, and downtime data accurately into ERP/AS400 systems.
- Label, package, and prepare finished rolls for shipment following work orders and customer requirements.
- Conduct routine equipment cleaning, blade changes, and basic troubleshooting of jams, web breaks, and alignment issues.
- Follow documented SOPs, quality procedures, and 5S/housekeeping standards in the Finishing department.
- Safely operate forklifts, hoists, and material‑handling equipment to move parent rolls and finished goods (training provided).
- Complete daily production paperwork, quality records, and material usage documentation.
- Collaborate with team members and cross‑train on other finishing equipment (rewind, inspection, labeling).
- Maintain compliance with all site safety policies, including PPE requirements, lockout/tagout, and chemical handling.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Prior experience in slitting, rewinding, converting, printing, or manufacturing preferred but not required.
- Ability to read and interpret production specs, measuring devices (tape measure, calipers, scales), and written instructions.
- Basic computer/data entry skills for ERP, production logs, and quality records.
- Comfort working around moving equipment and performing repetitive tasks with precision.
- Strong attention to detail, situational awareness, and commitment to safe work practices.
- Ability to lift up to 35–50 lbs, stand and walk continuously, and perform frequent bending, twisting, and reaching.
- Frequent standing/walking throughout 8‑hour or 10‑hour shifts.
- Repetitive reaching, bending, threading, and manual adjustments to the slitter equipment.
- Ability to visually inspect material for defects and quality attributes.
- Use of hoists, forklifts, manual carts, and material‑handling equipment as trained.
- Tolerance for working with film, solvents (for machine cleaning), and moderate noise levels.

Pay Range: $22.00–$24.00/hour + applicable 3rd shift premium. Actual rate determined by experience, market conditions, and internal equity.
