Position: Crane Operator I Midwest Region

Overview

As a Crane Operator I at Sure Steel, Inc., you will play a crucial role in our construction projects by operating mobile cranes to lift, move, position, and reposition loads. You will ensure the safe and efficient operation of the crane while adhering to all safety protocols and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Opens the crane for operation.
  • Operates mobile cranes to lift, move, position, and reposition loads as required.
  • Interprets and follows lift plans, load charts, and hand signals from the rigging crew.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in crane operation through practical examinations.
  • Performs daily equipment inspections to ensure operational safety and efficiency.
  • Complies with all safety guidelines, including OSHA regulations and Sure Steel, Inc. policies.
  • Adheres to Sure Steel, Inc.'s Substance Abuse Policy.
  • Coordinates with the rigging crew to safely and efficiently execute lifting operations.
  • Maintains clear communication with the site supervisor and other team members regarding load management.
  • Documents and reports any issues related to load handling and lifting.
  • Uses appropriate hand signals and radio communication to coordinate crane movements.
  • Participates in team meetings and safety briefings to ensure alignment on project goals and safety protocols.
  • Performs routine maintenance checks on the crane to ensure it is in good working condition.
  • Documents and reports any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs.
  • Ensures the crane is clean and well-maintained, following company protocols for equipment care.
