Full‑time with overtime.

$33 - $38 per hour (based on experience and qualifications).

Overview

The Shop Manager is responsible for a wide range of duties including mechanical knowledge, paint booth, wash bays, etc. The Shop Manager is a full‑time position that requires overtime through peak season and reports the Territory Manager and has potential for supervisory responsibility.

Responsibilities
  • Be prompt and timely for all assigned shifts, schedules, and projects.
  • Be aware of and familiar with the Company Handbook.
  • Teach, coach, and work with the team in a constructive manner.
  • Consistently keep the shop clean and organized to promote professionalism, safety, and efficiency.
  • Actively participate in any recommended or mandatory training.
  • Responsible for supervising and maintaining a positive working relationship with shop Mechanics.
  • Consistently teach, coach, and enforce safety standards.
  • Complete and maintain required paperwork on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
  • Maintain and enforce safe practices in the shop area.
  • Communicate with upper management on mechanic‑related items (trends, issues, projects, etc.).
  • Perform a full range of repair and modification work on heavy equipment vehicles including, but not limited to light‑duty, heavy‑duty, and Redi‑Mix trucks, backhoes, loaders, and miscellaneous equipment.
  • Repair tires, wheels, wheel bearings, idler wheels, idler bearings, and oil seals.
  • Replace suspension arms, torsion bars, stabilizer bars, etc.
  • Repair hydraulic and air brake systems.
  • Determine the nature and extent of repairs required.
  • Perform major and minor repairs on engines, power transmissions, transfers, and related electrical, fuel, and hydraulic components.
  • Use technical manuals and other publications to identify and order repair parts.
  • Operate and inspect machines or equipment to diagnose defects.
  • Examine parts for damage or excessive wear, using testing equipment such as compression testers, computer software tools, test meters, micrometers, gauges, and overall strong diagnostic skills.
  • Test overhauled equipment to ensure operating efficiency before being released to the field.
Requirements
  • Consent to authorization of a pre‑employment work screen, Motor Vehicle Record request, and drug test.
  • Class B CDL.
  • Understand instructions from supervisory positions, both written and verbal.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to reach below/at/above shoulders.
  • Pushing/Pulling/Twisting/Bending.
  • Sitting/Standing/Balancing.
  • Operate hand and foot controls.
  • Simple/Firm grasping/Pinching.
  • Ability to lift/lower/carry over 50 pounds.
  • Squatting/Stooping/Crouching/Kneeling/Crawling.
