Position: Technician 1 - Structured Cabling

Technician 1 works on customer sites in a variety of environments including new construction, remodels, and operating facilities. This position is also responsible for complying with Encore standards for Safety, and Customer Service.
Compensation for this role: $21.00 to $25.00 per hour, depending on experience

  • Performs strenuous physical work i.e., digging, kneeling, shoveling, lifting, pulling, pushing, climbing.

  • Wears tools at all required times
  • Works in all weather conditions
Specific Responsibilities
  • Have a positive and professional attitude.

  • Always conduct yourself in a professional manner while onsite.
  • Understands and demonstrates effective communication is both accurate and timely.
  • Install cabling needed for various field devices.
  • Basic terminations of cables by device type
  • Install basic devices in the field.
  • Basic understanding of field components
  • Read and understand basic scopes of work.
  • Possess a basic understanding of industry related tools, proficient in use.
  • Ability to use power tools, effectively and safely.
  • Work independently or as part of a team, able and willing to take direction and execute those directives effectively and efficiently.
  • Understand and follow safety guidelines, if working with others, ensuring they are also working in a safe manner.
  • Willing tolisten, learn andperformeffectively on specific installation tasks.
  • Competent and capable communicator

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

A functional physical is required to be completed and passed before work can be performed in all field positions. The physical requirements can often be completed repetitively and for extended periods of time. These requirements include:

  • Driving
  • Climbing
  • Lifting, floor to chest (up to 50lbs)
  • Lifting, floor to waist (up to 50lbs)
  • Lifting, waist to overhead (up to 30lbs each arm)
  • Carrying (up to 50lbs)
  • Standing
  • Stooping
  • Vision acuity (near, far and without color deficiencies)
  • Walking
  • Kneeling
  • Trimming (final installation of electrical devices)
  • Pushing (up to 100lbs)
  • Pulling (up to 100lbs)
Requirements:

A high school diploma or equivalent is required with one year of experience preferred.
