Field Service Technician I – Cheyenne, WY (4‑Day Workweeks & Company Vehicle)

Hach is looking for a Field Service Technician I to serve customers throughout the North America Field Service Team, based in Cheyenne, Wyoming or within a two‑hour radius, and working remotely. The role focuses on delivering high‑quality customer service, performing preventative maintenance, routine repair, and calibration/verification of Hach devices at municipal and industrial sites.

Training
: 10‑week training program – 8 weeks in the field with a dedicated trainer, 2 weeks classroom‑based in Loveland, CO.

Schedule
: 3 days off per week; post‑training schedule consists of 4 shifts per week, 10‑hour days, based on workload demand.

• Perform preventative maintenance, routine repair, and calibration/verification of instrumentation using established company standard work.
• Promote a positive customer experience and serve as on‑site customer contact for technical and service‑related problems.
• Submit prompt, accurate service reports that affect billing, inventory, instrument history, and instrument failure.
• Execute administrative activities in support of service visits.
• Work in a variety of municipal and industrial settings (e.g., drinking water & wastewater treatment facilities, refineries, chemical manufacturing plants, food & beverage processing facilities). Some applications may involve servicing in NEC hazardous locations (Class I Division 2).
• Travel 50‑75% of time within a 2‑hour radius of Cheyenne; anticipate 1‑3 nights away per week with company‑paid accommodations and meals.

• High school diploma required; associate’s or technical degree preferred or equivalent experience.
• Basic mechanical aptitude; experience with preventative maintenance and technical diagnostics/repair.
• Minimum 2 years of field service experience and/or customer‑facing roles preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record required.

• Daily travel to customer sites required.
• Occasional travel to other states within the region is expected.
• May require occasional rental of vehicles for business travel; valid driver’s license required.

The compensation range for this role is $30.00 - $32.00 USD per year. This job is also eligible for incentive pay. Benefits and compensation may be modified over time.
