CHEESE SHOP/CLERK – Kroger Mountain View Foods

We are looking for an energetic and customer‑focused cheese shop clerk to deliver an outstanding customer experience, maintain a safe and clean environment, and help achieve sales goals.

• Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department and be able to respond to questions and make suggestions.
• Offer product samples to help customers discover new items.
• Inform customers of Cheese Shop specials.
• Provide customers with fresh products that are correctly portioned to prevent shrink.
• Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients according to recipe.
• Adequately prepare, package, label, and inventory ingredients.
• Check product quality to ensure freshness; review sell‑by dates.
• Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
• Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Understand the store layout and locate products for customers.
• Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads.
• Maintain awareness of inventory/stocking conditions and note discrepancies.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers and maintain temperature logs.
• Reinforce safety programs by following procedures and notifying management of unsafe conditions.
• Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting repairs.
• Notify management of customer or employee accidents.
• Report all safety risks or illegal activity to store management.
• Work cooperatively in a high‑paced, sometimes stressful environment.
• Manage conflict in a reasonable, non‑confrontational manner.
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve issues.
• Provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and/or older adults.
• Must be able to perform essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Effective communication skills.
• Basic math skills (counting, addition, subtraction).
• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• High school education or equivalent (desired).
• Comparable retail experience (desired).
