Overview
The EHS Manager is responsible for leading all Environmental, Health, and Safety activities on-site for a major construction project. This role ensures full compliance with company standards, regulatory requirements, and project‑specific EHS expectations. The EHS Manager serves as the primary safety leader for the contractor and oversees all EHS personnel assigned to the project.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as the on‑site, full‑time EHS Manager for the project, beginning prior to mobilization.
- Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the project’s EHS program.
- Oversee and coordinate the work of all Contractor and Trade Partner EHS Professionals.
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Provide coaching, guidance, and technical expertise to project leadership and field teams.
- Ensure all incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions are reported, investigated, and resolved.
- Deliver EHS training, toolbox talks, and safety briefings as required.
- Maintain accurate EHS documentation, reports, and compliance records.
- Collaborate with client EHS representatives and participate in EHS meetings, reviews, and planning sessions.
- Support workforce engagement by promoting a strong safety culture across all project teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
- Minimum of 8 years of construction safety experience, including at least 2 years in a team leadership or management role.
- Demonstrated experience managing EHS programs on large, complex construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, industry best practices, and construction safety standards.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work full‑time on-site and collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
- Professional certifications (e.g., CHST, CSP, OHST) preferred.
- Provide an additional full‑time Field EHS Representative for every 75 craft personnel assigned to the project. Including:
