Join our team at the Wyoming Attorney General’s Office, Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI)! We are seeking a qualified and motivated individual to serve as the Control Terminal CJIS Supervisor. At the direction of the Deputy Director, supervise, plan, and schedule all work activities, including special projects of several units within the Criminal Justice Information Section (CJIS), including the Control Terminal.

Other units supervised may include any combination of the Applicant Tracking Unit, Concealed Firearm Permit Unit, Uniform Crime Reporting Unit, Automated Biometric Identification Services Unit, Computerized Criminal History Unit, and the Sexual Offender Registry Unit. Supervision of these units requires considerable judgment in determining work method; direct and oversee the operation of various other law enforcement programs, including the Wyoming Missing Person Clearinghouse.

Ensure law enforcement agencies in the state of Wyoming have connectivity to the National Crime Information Center (NCIC), National Law Enforcement Telecommunications System (NLETS), and Wyoming Criminal Justice Information Network (WyCJIN) 24/7, enabling law enforcement officers to perform their duties, thereby ensuring the safety of themselves and the protection and safety of the citizens of Wyoming.

Essential Functions
  • Directly supervise the Control Terminal staff as well as two to three other units within Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS). Supervise case load, personnel, resources, special projects, and adherence to policy; manage the Control Terminal on-call schedule; assign and review the work of the unit staff and formulate plans for improvement; receive, discuss and resolve questions and problems presented by workers regarding work methods and processes;

    conduct performance evaluations; set goals and ensure goals are met; coordinate working within the units and work within other units of the Division.
  • Devise a timetable for achievement of work objectives, completion of projects and development of changes of work processes; establish and maintain work standards, procedures, methods and rules of the CJIS records section; analyze, evaluate and make determinations for better use of material and personnel resources; monitor training programs in CJIS with oversight to organize, schedule and monitor overall CJIS training efforts for the division and non-division personnel.
  • Provide project management for small and large-scale CJIS-related projects, including coordinating with local, state, and federal agencies, vendors, and Division staff; maintaining records, monitoring expenses and projected expenses, and acting as the main point of contact.
  • Assist Deputy Director with participating in federal CJIS audits and drafting responses; coordinate statewide CJIS audits, ensuring compliance with CJIS Security Policy.
  • Review instructor performance, organization of course content, and coordinate with the Peace Officer's Standards and Training for accuracy of training programs; monitor, supervise, and ensure compliance with training programs.
  • Report to and assist the Deputy Director with program development, research, surveys, planning, budgeting needs, personnel, and equipment needs of the section; resolve problems and make decisions.
  • Assist in compiling information and preparing grant applications for federal funds; assist with the analysis and development of financial grant data and writing reports; produce statistical reports.
  • Receive and incorporate new material into the criminal justice information systems; responsible for the electronic submission of data through information technology involving courts, corrections, prosecutors, and other law enforcement agencies.
  • Act as liaison between CJIS and other state and local agencies; give and receive information; confer with and advise employees and other law enforcement agencies; present or request information; participate in the CJIS management team in making decisions that affect the Division as a whole.
  • Compare data from several sources; receive, compare, implement, and update changes; compile information, conduct analysis, and evaluate data for and write periodic reports.
