General Description
This position is a full‑time, daytime custodian responsible for general cleaning in a variety of State facilities. The custodian maintains a clean and safe environment for employees and the public, working collaboratively with others.

- General cleaning, vacuuming, dusting, mopping, and sanitizing surfaces
- Emptying trash and recycling containers and replenishing supplies
- Identifying areas that need repair and reporting them to the supervisor
- Compliance with state and federal regulations such as OSHA and EPA
- Operating and maintaining equipment, including hand and shop tools
- Moving furniture and setting up conference rooms for meetings and events
- Performing watchman rounds to ensure security and safety, checking building systems, and updating security logs
- Performing chemical renovations
- Monitoring fire protection systems
Preference will be given to applicants with prior experience working with cleaning materials and chemicals.
Knowledge- Knowledge of materials, supplies, equipment, and methods of more technical cleaning and maintenance
- Knowledge of power and manual tools
- Knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations
Education: High School Diploma
Experience: 0–6 months of progressive work experience in Building and Grounds; or 1–2 years of progressive experience in Building and Grounds if education is lacking.

Physical Working Conditions- Exposure to hazardous materials, chemicals, bio‑hazards, and elements
- Must be able to drive vehicles and operate large complex cleaning and grounds maintenance equipment
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- FLSA:
Non‑Exempt - This is a full‑time, Monday‑Friday daytime position
