GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Wyoming Department of Health, Division of Healthcare Financing, is seeking applicants for the position of Project Eligibility Specialist. The Project Eligibility Specialist position provides support to the eligibility unit as they participate in monitoring Medicaid programs and completing special projects.

- Provides customer service to the public, clients, and staff and acts as a resource to coworkers, customers, and/or clients.
- Reviews monthly reports for multiple program areas, research cases, and identifies issues and patterns to help mitigate errors.
- Conducts research, collects, organizes, and details the information in writing to contribute to the successful monitoring of the Medicaid programs and the successful completion of special projects undertaken by the Medicaid Eligibility Unit.
- Process applications and maintain logs for the Presumptive Eligibility program.
- Maintains the eligibility email inbox, answering or directing to the appropriate person.
- Develops training materials and presentations to be used by the Eligibility Unit in support of the Medicaid programs.
- Provides training and presentations to State Agencies and Vendors.
- Assist the Medicaid Eligibility Unit Professional Staff as needed to assure the timely completion of day-to-day activities as well as special projects.
- Acts as backup to other Medicaid Administrative Staff as time permits or as determined by the supervisor.
- Other projects will be determined by the supervisor as time allows.
Preference will be given to applicants with an Associate’s degree in Business, Human Services, or Computer Technology and experience with Benefits and Eligibility.
Knowledge- Knowledge of state and federal government functions, procedures, concepts, principles, and practices of professional healthcare administration.
- Ability to comprehend federal regulations, state statutes, program rules, and policy and to interpret and integrate into legislation, statute, and policy.
- Ability to examine data and reports for completeness, accuracy, and conformance with regulations.
- Skill in interpersonal relations, oral and written communication skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of the latest forms of technology and ability to use this knowledge to create and present Medicaid program information to various audiences across the state.
- Skill and ability to work independently.
- Skill in organization and planning.
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, and the general public.

Physical Working Conditions- Typically, the employee will sit comfortably to perform the work, however, there may be some walking, standing, bending, and carrying light items
