We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Area Sales Manager for the West Coast of the USA and Canada to join our team and help shape the future of sustainable mobility.
We are seeking a strategic and energetic Area Sales Manager for North America to lead the West Coast Electrical Safety Solutions Business Unit's commercial activities. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in engineering environments, enjoys building momentum, and knows how to create and maintain strong relationships.
OverviewPosition Summary:
Lead commercial activities, drive sales of DC & AC electrical equipment for railways, mass transit systems, mining, and other industry sectors in the West Coast US market; coordinate with headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland; expand the footprint of Electrical Safety Solutions products; and support product line managers and marketing with product economics.
- Drive local sales activities with promotion, proposal preparation, and client acquisition.
- Present and defend offers to customers and potential partners.
- Act as Key Account Manager for major clients.
- Execute sales strategies and achieve targets.
- Monitor market trends and the competitive landscape; adjust sales strategy as needed.
- Collaborate closely with R&D, Product Management, Marketing, and Business Development.
- Contribute to product and service evolution through market feedback.
- Proven experience (approximately 5–8 years) in international sales of electrical equipment manufacturing or industrial B2B environments with complex technical products.
- Excellent track record in sales growth.
- Native English; other languages are a plus.
- Technical degree in electrical engineering or power electronics, ideally with additional commercial education.
- Strong knowledge in at least one of the following: high voltage, medium voltage, railway traction systems, power transmission & distribution, renewable energy, or e-mobility.
- Strong technical acumen and ability to engage with cross-functional teams.
- Natural team motivator with a proactive, opportunity-driven mindset.
- Willingness to travel up to 80% and engage directly with clients.
- Outstanding communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to develop convincing communication strategies based on technical rationale.
- Excellent project management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Interest and ability to understand DC & AC power systems and related product needs.
