Position Summary
Radiology Technologist to join Med Star Health Urgent Care team. Perform clinical and administrative duties consistent with Med Star Health policies and procedures under physician supervision, including patient intake, standing orders, venipuncture, laboratory testing, patient follow‑up, and administration of oral, IM, SC, or intradermal medications. Certified technologists also perform and transmit X‑ray diagnostic images and maintain equipment and patient rooms to ensure optimal patient flow.
Responsibilities- Adhere to Med Star Health Code of Conduct and compliance plan; complete all scheduled training including safety, infection control, OSHA, CPR, EMR, general compliance, harassment, and service.
- Clean, stock, and sterilize equipment and prepare patient rooms for care delivery.
- Deliver patient care consistent with policy, ensuring high regard for patient/employer safety and quality of care.
- Use the electronic health record effectively; manage patient flow with frequent communication with patients and families, respecting their time and comfort.
- Perform spirometry/PFTs, vitals and BMI, EKGs, vision and hearing tests, splinting, and general patient care under medical provider supervision.
- Conduct patient follow‑up calls for lab tests, patient experience, and clinical results professionally.
- Perform venipuncture and selected patient/laboratory testing (point of care); initiate care pathways per policy.
- Execute X‑rays per medical provider orders; forward images to the appropriate radiologist for overreads; maintain X‑ray equipment and adhere to safety standards.
- Provide care consistent with Med Star's mission, vision, and values, exceeding expectations and ensuring patient confidence and loyalty.
- Serve as a patient escort throughout the care process and assist with discharge, ensuring clarity for patients and families.
- Support other team members during downtime, participate in basic computer and patient intake tasks, and assist with medical provider examinations and education.
- Under provider supervision, prepare and administer oral medications and injections limited to intradermal, subcutaneous, and intramuscular routes after demonstrating competency.
- Associate degree.
- Completion of an approved Radiologic Technologist program.
- Externship in a medical or ambulatory health setting.
- Two years of medical office experience preferred.
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technology) certification.
- State license:
Maryland, Virginia, or DC. - BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
USD $29.15 - $51.68 per hour.
