Candidates must possess the necessary right to work authorisation to enable them to work for Chesterfield Borough Council. Regrettably, we are unable to provide sponsorship or assume sponsorship of an employment visa at this juncture.
Positions- Two part‑time building cleaning team positions
- One contract for 15 hours per week, another for 10 hours per week, both including weekend working
- Office buildings and sports centres
- Public venues consisting of public toilets and parks pavilions
- Communal areas of housing complexes
- Empty housing properties, to prepare for the next tenants
The work is often quite physical and will include:
- Some manual handling duties
- Hand sweeping and mopping stairs
- Cleaning windows and large areas of plate glass
- Scrubbing tiles and floors in changing areas
- Specialist cleaning machines, such as floor buffers, will also be used
You will also be responsible for:
- Emptying waste bins and ensuring waste is disposed of properly
- Replenishing supplies such as hand soap and paper towels
- Vacuuming large floor spaces
- Dusting skirting boards, door frames and office furniture
The successful candidates will need to be flexible, as it is highly likely that your working location and the tasks you are completing will change regularly.
This post includes weekend working and bank holidays. Start and finish times vary dependant on location as directed by the service.
