About the Role of Deputy Manager The Deputy Manager will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the home, ensuring clinical excellence, regulatory compliance, and a positive culture for both residents and staff. You will act as a role model for best practice, support staff development, and help drive continuous improvement across all areas of the service.
Key Responsibilities for the Deputy Manager include:
Support the Home Manager with operational and clinical leadership across the home Ensure high standards of person-centred care for residents with a range of needs, including dementia and complex nursing requirements Lead, mentor, and supervise the care and nursing teams Oversee care planning, risk assessments, and medication management Maintain compliance with CQC standards and internal quality frameworks Build strong relationships with residents, families, and external professionals Contribute to staff recruitment, training, and performance management Act as Manager in their absence, ensuring smooth and safe running of the home Requirements for the Deputy Manager include:
Registered Nurse (RGN/RMN/RNLD) with a valid NMC pin Previous experience in a senior or deputy role within a care home setting Strong clinical knowledge and understanding of dementia care Confident leader with excellent communication and organisational skills Passionate about delivering outstanding care and supporting staff to thrive Ability to work proactively, problem-solve, and maintain a calm approach
