Health Care Assistant - OPMH

Job Summary

We are looking for Healthcare Assistants to join the Snowdrop Ward at Walton Hospital. The role involves direct care delivery for people with diagnoses of organic mental health illness, dementia, challenging behaviours and physical disabilities.

• Participate as a member of the nursing team in delivery and monitoring of individual care/treatment plans.
• Support the Registered Nurse in the implementation and delivery of high standards of patient care following a Person‑Centred Approach.
• Undertake programmes of personalised care to meet the direct care needs of each patient, maximizing independence and recovery.

• Essential GCSE English / Maths or equivalent.
• Essential Care Certificate / Essentials in Care.
• Essential Sterling University best practice in Dementia care or equivalent qualification.
• Desirable NVQ Level 2 in Health / Social Care.

• Previous Dementia / Mental Health care or challenging behaviour minimum 6 months.
• Previous care experience within health or social care.
