Overview
An exciting opportunity within Children’s Hearing Services at Chesterfield Royal Hospital. We are a dedicated team of 5 Paediatric Audiologists, 5 Clinical Scientists and 4 Newborn Hearing Screeners. We are looking for a permanent Band 5 Paediatric Audiologist as we expand our team. This post may include some weekend working on a rota basis. This position will be based across several sites in North Derbyshire;
therefore, a full current driving licence is essential for this role. You may be occasionally asked to transport equipment between sites and access to reliable transportation or a car is essential. (For applicants with a disability, suitable alternative arrangements may be agreed if necessary).
As an IQIPS accredited service we offer the opportunity to work within a highly skilled paediatric team. As a qualified paediatric audiologist, this will offer you the opportunity to develop and extend your educational & clinical skills.
Responsibilities- Work as part of the Children’s Hearing team to provide age-appropriate audiological assessments and hearing aid reviews.
- Provide information, advice and emotional support to patients and their relatives/carers referred for investigation, diagnosis and treatment.
- Contribute to a range of services including newborn hearing diagnostics, hearing rehabilitation, tinnitus management and APD assessment as part of an IQIPS accredited service.
- Collaborate with Derbyshire Hearing Support (Education) Services, a Paediatric Consultant with special interest in etiological investigation of PCHI, Paediatricians & the ENT Service.
- Support the delivery of services across multiple sites, with potential weekend working on a rota basis.
- Completed a BSc/MSc in Audiology (or equivalent).
- AHCS or HCPC registered.
- Previous experience in an NHS Audiology position at Band 5 level or above.
- Evidence of ongoing continuing professional development.
