Overview

Derbyshire County Council are looking for an Enablement Support Worker to join our short-term reablement teams, working within local communities in Chesterfield. Supporting clients within their own home to regain full or partial independence will be the focus of our Enablement Support Workers.

You don’t need to have previous experience of care work or qualifications as we offer structured training to ensure our care workers receive what they need to flourish and progress in their social care careers.

Do you have the ambition and drive to work positively with people, promoting choice and control to encourage their independence in personal care, mobility, medication, making meals, whilst working to their goal focussed personal service plan? If the answer is yes then we are keen to hear from you.

What will you be doing?

Working in care can be challenging at times, but extremely rewarding, and you will be working as part of a multi-professional team to provide wrap around support to enable people to live as independently as possible in their own home.

You will be working towards a therapy goal focussed care plan that is aimed at promoting independence and you will have access to support through the new structure. You will work closely with other colleagues and have regular access to your Senior Enablement Support Worker for “on the job” queries and support and from your Enablement Support Lead for supervision, professional development and access to training.

A robust and attainable career pathway has been built into the new structure so there will be opportunities to work your way through the structure to more senior positions.

This vacancy will offer 18, 24 and 30 contracted hours on a rota basis and a 6-hour shift pattern. Therefore, 18 hours will work 3 days a week, 24 hours will work 4 days a week and 30 hours will work 5 days a week. There are also opportunities to work extra hours when they are available. The job will require unsocial hours including weekends and Bank Holidays.

You could also be required to work at night when the need arises and with agreement. Payment arrangements will be detailed in any contract offer made.
