Overview

Job Summary: An opportunity has arisen for a CAMHS Eating Disorders Mental Health Practitioner post to work as part of the CAMHS Eating Disorders Team. The post holder will be a key member of the team offering family-based care to children and young people in the community and the paediatric ward, liaising with all agencies involved with care. You will be based with the CAMHS team, coordinating care, team meetings and MDT meetings for children and young people, and joining the supervision structures and offering consultation to CAMHS colleagues.

You will be a registered practitioner (RMN, Occupational Therapist, Social Worker or Clinical Psychologist) with experience of working with children or adults who experience eating disorders. The Trust supports flexible working and we would be happy to discuss different working patterns, job shares or part time.

• Co-ordinate and deliver care for children and young people referred with eating disorders. Provide first line management and leadership to the team, ensuring care is of the highest standard and delivered in accordance with Policies and Procedures.
• Proactively ensure the efficacy of the CAMHS Eating Disorder (CED) care pathway and the shared paediatric / CED pathway, influencing service development with support of the CED Team Lead.
• Act as a senior clinician, assessing the psychological, social and physical factors relevant to the care of the mental health of children and adolescents with severe eating disorders; plan, implement and manage family-based interventions in line with National Guidelines.
• Present a professional image and promote a positive image of CAMHS and the Trust to service users, carers and the community.

The CAMHS Eating Disorder service consists of a multidisciplinary team, based within the CAMHS Service at The Den, Chesterfield Royal Hospital. The team links closely with other CAMHS teams and with the hospital's paediatric ward. The Trust supports clinical supervision, career & personal development and health & wellbeing support.
