We have a number of Healthcare Assistant vacancies available on Snowdrop Ward at Walton Hospital.
Role and responsibilitiesYou will be responsible for direct care delivery for people with a diagnosis of organic mental health illness and associated problems, in particular dementia, challenging behaviours and physical disabilities.
You will conduct all relevant forms of care in support of and supervised/directed by a Registered Nurse, and will support the Registered Nurses in the implementation and delivery of high standards of patient care, promoting patient wellbeing following a person-centred approach.
Main duties of the job
- You will participate as a member of the nursing team in delivery and monitoring of individual care/treatment plans and report changes to the registered nurse as appropriate.
- You will undertake programmes of personalised care to meet the direct care needs of each patient, maximising independence and recovery.

Education & Qualification
- Essential: GCSE English / Maths or equivalent
- Care Certificate / Essentials in Care
- Sterling University - best practice in Dementia care or equivalent qualification
Desirable: NVQ level 2 in health / social care
Experience
- Previous Dementia/MH care/challenging behaviour minimum 6 months
- Previous care experience within health or social care
