Join Mencap as a Support Worker in Chesterfield!

We’re looking for caring, committed individuals to support people with learning disabilities within our complex care service. You’ll help with daily tasks, personal care, medication, and activities—making a real difference every day. Both full‑time and part‑time applicants welcome to apply!

UK driving licence required as we have vehicles you must be willing to drive.

• Relationship Building: Essential for gaining the trust of the people we support, establishing open communication, and building lasting relationships.
• Patience and Understanding: Important for navigating challenging situations effectively.
• Conflict‑Resolution Techniques: Necessary for managing and resolving conflicts in a constructive manner.
• Must hold a valid UK driving licence and be willing to drive our mobility vehicles.

• A genuine passion for supporting others.
• Experience with in care work is preferred but not essential.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.
• People who enjoy interactivity with the people we support.

Full time - 37.5 hours per week

Part time - 15‑30 hours per week

• Between 07:00‑22:00 (Varied shifts)
• Two sleep‑in shifts required per week and paid at a flat rate of £63.70 per sleep
• Must be flexible to cover weekends on a rota basis
