Overview
Personnel Solutions are recruiting for a Mechanical Service Engineer / Heat Exchanger Service Technician based in Chesterfield. This role may suit candidates currently working as a Mechanical Technician, Maintenance Engineer, Mechanical Fitter or Field Service Engineer who are looking for a hands-on engineering role combining workshop servicing and site engineering.
The position is primarily based within a Chesterfield service centre, carrying out the servicing, refurbishment and repair of plate heat exchangers, with occasional travel to customer sites across the UK for installation, removal, testing and mechanical repair work.
This role would suit a mechanically minded engineer with experience in mechanical maintenance, service engineering, mechanical repair or installation work, looking to develop specialist experience within a growing engineering environment.
Responsibilities- Service, refurbish and maintain plate heat exchangers within the Chesterfield service centre
- Remove, repair, test and reinstall heat exchangers on customer sites across the UK when required
- Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out repair work
- Assist with installation and recommissioning of heat exchanger units
- Complete service reports and documentation following site visits
- Work closely with the engineering team to deliver high-quality service work
- Represent the company professionally when attending customer sites
- Mechanical engineering, maintenance or service experience preferred
- Experience with plate heat exchangers
- Strong problem-solving skills and a practical engineering mindset
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Methodical approach to diagnostics and mechanical repair
- Full UK driving licence
- Willingness to travel across the UK when required
- Flexibility to work occasional overtime, evenings or weekends
- Overnight stays away from home may occasionally be required
- GCSE level education or equivalent
- DBS check may be required
Full training will be provided in all aspects of plate heat exchanger servicing, refurbishment, repair and installation.
