The Role
Inspire Resourcing Ltd are looking for a Field Service Engineer to join our clients Chesterfield office, supporting customers across the UK and Northern Ireland. The company is a specialist supplier of high-quality machinery meaning you won’t be manufacturing equipment, but instead providing installation, servicing, maintenance, and spare-parts support for machines supplied to customers.
You’ll work on a wide range of equipment, from small bench units to larger automated machinery. The role is primarily electronics-focused, with some light mechanical work involving gears, bearings, and general machine components.
This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong technical background who enjoys problem solving, travelling, and working independently.
Key Responsibilities
· Install, service, repair, and maintain machinery at customer sites across the UK and Northern Ireland
· Diagnose electrical and electronic faults, with some mechanical troubleshooting
· Carry out planned and reactive maintenance
· Support customers with spare parts, technical queries, and machine optimisation
· Complete service reports, documentation, and follow-up actions
· Work closely with the Chesterfield and South London engineering teams
· Attend occasional overseas training (typically once per year)
· Manage your own schedule, including overnight stays when required
· Spend approx. one day per week at the Chesterfield office to reset, restock, and complete admin
The Ideal candidate:
· Strong electronics background (essential)
· Some mechanical understanding (gears, bearings, moving parts)
· Experience working with machinery, installations, or field service
· Confident fault-finding and problem-solving skills
· Ability to work independently and “hit the ground running”
· Comfortable travelling across the UK, including Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland
· Must live within a reasonable commute to Chesterfield

Industry specific experience is not required full training will be provided.
The Package:
· £40,000 - £45,000 salary (depending on experience)

· Mix of local and national work
· Some weeks may involve multiple overnight stays; other weeks may be fully local
