KO2's client, an innovative engineering company based in Chesterfield, is looking to recruit a talented Electronics & Mechanical Engineer to join their growing multidisciplinary team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge products from concept through to production, combining both electronic and mechanical design expertise.
The Role
As an Electronics & Mechanical Engineer, you will play a key role in the development, testing, and improvement of bespoke engineered systems. This is a hands-on position where you will be involved across the full product lifecycle, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, reliable solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop electronic circuits (analogue and digital)
- Create and modify PCB layouts
- Mechanical design using 3D CAD (enclosures, housings, assemblies)
- Prototype build, test, and validation
- Support product transition from design to manufacture
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
- Liaise with suppliers and manufacturing partners
Skills & Experience Required
- Degree (or equivalent experience) in Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline
- Strong experience in both electronic circuit design and mechanical design
- Proficiency with PCB design tools
- Experience using 3D CAD software (Solid Works ideally)
- Hands-on prototyping and testing experience
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and DFM principles
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Desirable Experience
- Embedded systems knowledge
- Firmware development (C/C++)
- Project management exposure
