Project Manager | Civil & Highways Engineering

AMB Recruitment is working in partnership with a leading contractor within the civil engineering and highways sector to recruit an experienced Project Manager. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established organisation delivering complex infrastructure projects across the UK.

The Role

As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of civil engineering and highways projects from pre-construction through to completion. You will ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in full compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and manage detailed project plans, including scope, programme, and resource allocation

Lead, manage, and motivate project teams and subcontractors

Oversee day-to-day project delivery, ensuring milestones and targets are achieved

Manage project budgets, costs, and financial reporting

Identify project risks and implement effective mitigation strategies

Ensure quality standards and compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements

Maintain clear and effective communication with internal stakeholders

Provide regular progress updates and reports to senior management

About You

The successful candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering and highways project delivery.

Essential requirements:

HND/HNC or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline

Proven experience managing large-scale civil and/or highways engineering projects

Strong knowledge of highways, civil works, and drainage (essential)

Demonstrable project management skills, including planning, scheduling, and risk management

Excellent leadership and people management capabilities

Strong verbal and written communication skills

A proactive and solutions-focused approach

Full, clean UK driving licence
