Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Site based role – Commutable from Chesterfield, Sheffield, Rotherham, Worksop, Alfreton, Matlock, Mansfield, Dronfield, Clay Cross, Bolsover, Eckington and Staveley.

£42,250 + 3 Shift Pattern (Early, Days and Nights) + No Call Out Rota + 25 days Holiday + Company Pension + Paid Overtime (Career Progression + Training).

Excellent opportunity for a Maintenance Engineer to join a long‑established manufacturing company that offers long‑term stability, steady progression, and ongoing training. The business is well respected and supplies key components into industrial and infrastructure sectors. Having operated for generations, it is known for producing quality work and for retaining experienced engineers.

The role involves carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance on heavy industrial machinery, working as part of an experienced maintenance team on a rotating 3‑shift pattern. You'll be responsible for fault finding, repairs, and helping to keep equipment running reliably through preventative maintenance. This role would suit a mechanically minded engineer with experience in industrial or heavy plant environments who enjoys hands‑on work and is looking for a secure, long‑term position.

  • Perform planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance on heavy industrial machinery.
  • Work as part of a 3‑shift rotation (5:30 am–2 pm, 1:30 pm–10 pm, 9:30 pm–6 am).
  • Maintain a stable role with long‑term career prospects in a heritage engineering firm.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Mechanically biased engineer with industrial or heavy plant experience.
  • Comfortable with physically demanding, hands‑on work.
  • Welding or fabrication experience beneficial.
