Electrical Trainer / Assessor (Chesterfield)

Full-time (part-time considered) | Competitive salary (42k

Technique Training is a leading UK provider of electrical and technical training. We’re known for hands‑on delivery, small class sizes (1–10), individual workstations, and a supportive approach that helps learners succeed—whether they’re experienced tradespeople or career changers.

We’re hiring an Electrical Trainer / Assessor based at our Chesterfield (Clay Cross) centre. This role is ideal for either an experienced trainer/assessor or an electrician looking to step into training (we’ll support the transition and qualifications where needed).

What you’ll do
  • Deliver high-quality electrical training (workshop + classroom) with a practical, learner-first approach
  • Support learners with confidence, competence, and exam readiness
  • Assess learner work and maintain accurate learner records (where applicable)
  • Contribute to course improvement, standardisation, and keeping content aligned to current regs
  • Maintain a safe, professional workshop environment
What you’ll teach (depending on your experience)
  • Level 2/3 electrical installation skills and underpinning knowledge
  • 18th Edition (BS 7671)
  • Inspection & Testing (e.g., 2391 or equivalent)
  • AM2 preparation / NVQ evidence support (where applicable)
What we’re looking for (essential)
  • Strong electrical industry experience (installation/testing background)
  • Up-to-date knowledge of BS 7671 and safe working practices
  • Clear communication and a supportive style with adult learners
  • Gold card or abolity to obtain one
Nice to have (not essential)
  • Assessor qualification (CAVA/TAQA/A1) and/or IQA (V1)
  • 18th Edition and/or 2391 (or equivalent)

No teaching/assessing quals yet? If you’re the right person with the right electrical background, we’ll support you in gaining them.

  • Purpose-built, modern workshops and equipment
  • Small groups and high learner support
  • A clear pathway into training/assessing for electricians moving off the tools
  • A team that takes quality seriously and backs its trainers
