About the RoleWe are seeking a passionate and dedicated Design & Technology Teacher to join a supportive and forward-thinking secondary school in Chesterfield. This is a full-time position ideal for a teacher who is enthusiastic about inspiring students through practical learning, creativity, and innovation within the DT curriculum.
The successful candidate will deliver engaging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, fostering students confidence, problem-solving skills, and technical ability.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and deliver high-quality Design & Technology lessons that engage and challenge students.
- Teach across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (KS5 experience desirable but not essential).
- Support students in developing practical skills, creativity, and design thinking.
- Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing constructive feedback.
- Maintain a safe and organised workshop/classroom environment.
- Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment opportunities within the DT department.
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Has experience teaching Design & Technology in a secondary school setting.
- Demonstrates strong subject knowledge (e.g., product design, resistant materials, engineering, or similar).
- Is passionate about practical learning and student achievement.
- Has strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Works well as part of a collaborative team.
