Locum Consultant - General Medicine | Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust

Overview

This is a full time post, fixed term for 12 months. You will join an existing establishment of Physicians in the Medicine and Emergency Care Division. The post will suit someone with ambition and drive to provide high quality inpatient services in a high performing Trust. You will be expected to contribute to work striving for continuous improvement in the care of inpatients with general medical conditions.

We are looking for someone who will contribute to our services, gaining experience in leading and delivering care as a consultant in a friendly, supportive team. Upon successful appointment, it is envisaged that you will bring experience which will complement and strengthen acute care at the Royal, and the role can be adapted to incorporate a developing or established clinical interest for the right candidate.

Anyone wishing to explore working less than full time will be eligible to be considered for the post; modification of the job plan will be discussed on an individual basis.

• Provide high quality inpatient services in a high performing Trust.
• Contribute to continuous improvement in the care of inpatients with general medical conditions.
• Lead and deliver care as a consultant in a friendly, supportive team.
• Develop clinical interests and participate in quality improvement and service development.
• Adapt the role to incorporate developing or established clinical interests for the right candidate.
• Discuss and arrange flexible working arrangements where required.

• Complete CESR in General (Internal) Medicine, or equivalent.
• Completed Higher Specialist Training or be within six months of obtaining Certificate of Completion of Training and entry onto the GMC Specialist Register.
