We have a new exciting opportunity for an experienced Geotechnical Estimator
. This role can be based anywhere in the UK or at our offices in Chesterfield & Northfleet.
- To undertake day to day estimating and bidding within CAN, in line with strategies and procedures aligned with CAN’s commercial and financial requirements.
- To track and follow up on priced enquiries proactively, liaising with the client with a view to increasing enquiry hit rate and maximise sales.
- To promote the company and raise the company profile in order to maintain current client base, win new clients and grow sales.
- Support Project Managers and the Health and Safety Managers with time served advice and experience on rope access techniques, working methods and materials from an estimating viewpoint.
- Assist the commercial team with activities on live projects to help maximise recovery of CE’s as required.
- Previous estimating experience in a geotechnical environment or similar. Understanding of drilling techniques and requirements.
- Travel Within UK – driving licence.
- Evaluation of tender opportunities to ensure they fit with CAN’s capabilities, business model and risk profile.
- Estimating tender prices.
- Bid writing and preparation.
- Tender and client management including timely response to client queries and adherence to tender deadlines.
- Working closely with finance and operations teams to develop and maintain processes for accurate estimates of costs.
- Pro-actively seek feedback on job performance to inform future estimating.
- Identifying and implementing continual improvements to reduce cost for both the client and CAN.
- Ensuring full and sufficient handovers to operations teams are made.
- Ensuring key tender assumptions/attendances are communicated to the commercial department and included in draft contracts.
