Overview
An opportunity has arisen to join our growing team at Royal Primary Care, and we are looking for an enthusiastic Receptionist/Administrator to work within our busy medical practice in the Chesterfield area.
We are looking to employ a receptionist/administrator to join our busy GP practice based in the Chesterfield area.
1 x 37.5 hours per week - Full-Time
Responsibilities- Ensure the reception area is manned and welcoming at all times.
- Process personal and telephone requests for appointments, home visits, and telephone consultations, directing callers to the appropriate healthcare professional.
- Complete all reception and administrative tasks in a timely and accurate manner, process and distribute incoming and outgoing mail.
- Take and relay messages promptly, ensuring effective communication between patients and clinical staff.
- Process repeat prescriptions in accordance with Practice guidelines.
- Enter and manage patient data accurately on the computer system (Systm One).
- Respond to enquiries from patients, colleagues, and external healthcare providers.
- Clear and re‑stock consulting rooms as required.
- Provide general clerical support, including word processing, filing, photocopying, diary management, and scanning.
- Monitor and maintain office and clinical stationery supplies.
- Handle clinical waste appropriately, ensuring it is taken to designated areas.
- Keep the reception area, noticeboards, and leaflet displays tidy and well‑organised.
- Undertake note sorting, scanning, and administrative duties relating to patient records and Practice documentation.
- GCSEs in Maths and English (Grade C/4 or above).
- Basic IT skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office.
- Experience working with the public, ideally in a reception or customer service environment.
- Understanding of basic office procedures.
