Description:
Virginia Information Technologies Agency is seeking a self‑starting, senior‑level project manager to plan and deliver successful transitions for complex infrastructure services that support the Commonwealth of Virginia. The qualified candidate must be PMP certified and have extensive experience managing multiple IT priorities at a fast pace.
The successful candidate will initiate, plan, and execute the timely and quality transition of Commonwealth initiatives, coordinating across internal and external stakeholders. The project manager will work closely with VITA Service Leads, IT Infrastructure Services Program Management Office, Commonwealth customers, internal VITA governance, executives, and Northrop Grumman to meet program and transition objectives. The ideal candidate has a strong background in delivering IT projects and proficiency with project management tools.
Responsibilities- Manage all aspects of the project, ensuring it meets scope, schedule, budget, and quality expectations.
- Serve as the single point of contact for business‑related items on the VITA team, streamlining communication between the vendor and VITA teams.
- Coordinate activities, tasks, and deliverables with the new supplier/vendor Project Manager and VITA business units.
- Actively manage project risks and issues, developing and implementing response plans.
- Facilitate tactical decision making with the vendor Project Manager.
- Resolve issues and manage actions in collaboration with the vendor Project Manager.
- Facilitate and attend weekly and monthly meetings based on the program framework.
- Engage and manage agendas and actions for IPT teams.
- Prepare Commonwealth Technology Portfolio (CTP) monthly reporting, status updates, and other administrative requirements.
- Report at executive levels.
- Create, maintain, and manage a detailed project schedule.
- Monitor delivery, acceptance, and approval of deliverables and milestones.
- Delegate responsibilities to team members and ensure actions are closed.
- PMP certification.
- Extensive experience managing multiple IT priorities simultaneously.
- Strong knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Project.
- Proven ability to work in fast‑paced environments, coordinating cross‑functional stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and organizational skills.
