Position:Plywood Production Operator Trainer
Location:
Chester. This is a non‑climate‑controlled mill with varying temperatures. Production Trainees work in general laborer capacity with opportunities for advancement.
- Two days on, Two days off, Three days on, Two days off rotation – 7:00 pm – 7:30 am (48 h one week, 36 h next week). Every other weekend is a 3‑day weekend off.
- Monday–Friday 11:00 pm – 7:30 am (40‑48 h per week) with weekend availability as required.
- Support machine operators and learn to run the green end, dryer, layup and saw lines.
- Use blowers, shovels, and pitch forks to clean up debris around machines ensuring a safe work environment.
- Act as a relief operator to cover breaks and vacations of other employees.
- Adhere to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies and procedures while proactively seeking potential safety hazards.
- Assist team members throughout the plant as needed during the production of plywood and veneer.
- 2 years manufacturing experience or high school diploma / GED with or without experience.
- Minimum 6 months work experience in a farming, landscaping, carpentry, mechanical, construction, warehouse, military, production or manufacturing environment; or 6 months mechanical technical schooling or training.
- Willing and able to lift up to 50 lbs routinely.
- Willing and able to work any shift, holidays, weekends and overtime as needed.
- Willing and able to work in a hot, cold, dusty and noisy industrial environment.
- Willing and able to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing safety equipment (safety glasses, hearing protection, steel‑toed boots, etc.).
- Willing and able to perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling for up to 12 hours a day.
