Overview

Working Full time: 37.5 hours per week. The Radiology Directorate has a full range of modern specialty imaging services. All our general x-ray rooms are DR. We operate over two sites, which includes Ellesmere Port Hospital. This is where our newly opened Community Diagnostic Hub (CDH) is located. In the CDH we CT/MRI/Ultrasound/DEXA and Plain Film Departments. This enables us to provide the best possible Diagnostic Service for our patients.

In the near future we will be expanding our Interventional Radiology department with two new suites and day ward. The Trust has also built a brand new Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC).

Opportunities for postgraduate study are encouraged and supported by the Directorate, and evidence of CPD is essential.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated Radiographer to join our expanding friendly and dynamic team. The successful candidate would need Band 6 experience in General X-Ray and DEXA scanning. The role will also include involvement in staff and student training to further broaden your experience. A BSc/ DCR in Radiography is essential, and you must be registered with the HCPC.

The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust provides services to West Cheshire and to Welsh patients covered by Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board. Person Specification

Essential

  • BSc in Radiography / Diploma of College of Radiographers
  • HCPC registration

Desirable

  • National training scheme for bone densitometry certification
  • RPS

Knowledge & Experience

  • Be adaptable, competent and safe in the operation of a variety of specialist equipment.
  • Relevant post registration experience in DEXA scanning
  • Desire for self-development and motivation to embrace change and learn new techniques outside the current scope of practice. Provision of CPD portfolio and documented evidence to support ongoing self-development.
  • Participate in / influence service development as required.
