Healthcare Support Worker

Overview

Healthcare Support Worker role at Western Collegiate Club Hockey Association. The trust seeks dedicated individuals to provide Safe, Kind and effective care to join Team Countess as a Health Care Support worker. We have permanent and training posts available.

• Provide health and social care support following professional guidance and the Care Certificate.
• Complete required clinical skills and practical assessments; participate in induction and training programs.
• Support on-site progression to NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care in partnership with Cheshire College (on-site, 24-month programme).
• Attend recruitment events and interviews as scheduled, and pass scenario and simulation assessments where applicable.
• Engage in DBS checks; DBS costs may be deducted from salary over the first three months; enrol in the DBS Update Service where applicable.
• Contribute to delivering Safe, Kind and effective care to patients across Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust locations.

• NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care, or equivalent healthcare experience (e.g., 2-year NHS substantive employment, or 3 years in another health care setting) to join Band 3, subject to successful interview and pre-employment checks.
• If you do not have NVQ Level 3 or equivalent experience, you will start in a six-month training post with pay aligned to the National Living Wage and will be required to complete the Care Certificate and other required competencies before progression to Band 3.

The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust provides services to West Cheshire and to Welsh patients; the Trust works with the Cheshire and Merseyside Health and Care Partnership and operates from three locations:
The Countess of Chester Hospital, Ellesmere Port Hospital, and Tarporley War Memorial Hospital.

Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check; costs will be deducted from salary over the first three months. You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. A small annual fee of £16 per year applies.
