LocationTravel between The Countess of Chester Hospital and Ellesmere Port Hospital, with home visits as needed. Conduct diabetes MDT clinics in the evenings twice per month; provide level 3 carbohydrate counting education and structured family education.
OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Band 7 Dietitian to lead our specialist nutrition support service for critically ill and surgical inpatients. This senior role provides expert dietetic assessment and management for patients requiring parenteral nutrition (PN) and complex enteral feeding within ICU and surgical wards. The role is integral to the multidisciplinary team, delivering specialist advice that informs clinical decision‑making, optimises nutritional status and supports improved patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert dietetic assessment and management for patients requiring PN and complex enteral feeding within ICU and surgical wards.
- Contribute specialist advice to the multidisciplinary team, informing clinical decision‑making and optimising nutritional status.
- Lead the dietetic team, supervising junior staff, supporting student training and promoting an evidence‑based practice culture.
- Lead on service development, audit and quality improvement initiatives, ensuring safe, effective and patient‑centred nutrition pathways.
- Communicate complex nutritional information with confidence and autonomy.
Details of recent clinical experience, specialism, qualifications, Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and registration are required. Strong communication skills, clinical reasoning autonomy and experience managing highly complex nutrition support cases are essential.
