Eaton Syalon is delighted to be partnering with a well-established and growing SME to recruit an Accounts Assistant into their friendly and supportive finance team.

This role offers the opportunity to join a down-to-earth SME environment where finance plays an important role in the day-to-day running of the business. You’ll work closely with an experienced Management Accountant and a wider team who value collaboration, reliability and a positive team spirit.

The position would suit someone who wants a varied finance role, building strong relationships across the business and being part of a team where people genuinely support each other.

We’re open to individuals from a range of backgrounds — whether you are studying AAT, considering studying, or simply bring solid finance experience and enjoy working in a practical, fast-moving business environment.

The business also offers flexibility around working hours and the opportunity for hybrid working once you are comfortable in the role, making this an excellent opportunity for someone seeking balance alongside an engaging and varied finance position.

The Opportunity

In this varied role you will support the smooth running of the finance function across both office and operational activities within the business.

Responsibilities will include:

* Processing purchase invoices

* Preparing and issuing sales invoices

* Reconciling supplier statements and resolving discrepancies

* Supporting the preparation of monthly financial reports

* Raising bank payments and reconciling bank accounts

* Supporting project and site teams with financial information

* Assisting with VAT

* Supporting the Management Accountant with wider finance tasks and projects

About You

We’re keen to hear from individuals who enjoy working in a collaborative SME environment and are comfortable getting involved across a range of finance activities.

You might be:

* A purchase ledger or accounts clerk looking for a broader role

* Someone currently studying or interested in studying AAT and keen to broaden out experience

* An experienced finance professional who enjoys a hands-on, varied role within a supportive team

You’ll likely bring:

* Experience with in a finance or accounts role

* Strong attention to detail and organisational skills

* Confidence using Excel and Microsoft Office

* A positive approach and willingness to support colleagues across the business

Experience with Sage 50 would be beneficial but is not essential
