Paraplanner
We are looking to recruit an experienced and high‑calibre Paraplanner to work closely with a team of Financial Advisers, supporting the design, development, and delivery of comprehensive financial plans. This role offers the opportunity to make a genuine impact on clients' financial wellbeing while developing your career within a supportive and professional environment.
The position is based onsite at a Chester office, with flexibility where required, and reports into the Senior Paraplanners. You will play a key role in ensuring advice is technically robust, compliant, and clearly communicated.
As a Paraplanner, you will be responsible for analysing clients' existing financial arrangements and providing technical support to Advisers. This will include completing detailed calculations such as income tax, inheritance tax, capital gains tax, lifetime allowance, pension annual allowance and carry forward, chargeable gains, and cashflow modelling. You will work closely with Advisers to research and formulate appropriate solutions and prepare high‑quality suitability and recommendation reports.
Regular liaison with product providers, account managers, and clients will form part of the role, alongside maintaining a strong understanding of financial products, legislation, and market developments.
In return, the role offers a permanent, full‑time position with a competitive salary reflective of your experience. Benefits include 20 days annual leave plus bank holidays, increasing to 25 days with service, an annual performance‑linked pay review, group pension scheme, and working hours of 9:00am to 5:30pm with access to flexible working when required. You will also receive full support for your professional development, including funded training programmes, sponsorship for financial advice qualifications, study days for examinations, access to free financial advice and wellbeing support, a Cycle to Work scheme, and regular company social events.
This opportunity would suit someone who enjoys turning complex financial information into clear, client‑focused advice. You will have previous experience working within an Independent Financial Adviser practice and demonstrate a highly organised and methodical approach with excellent attention to detail. Strong analytical and numerical skills, effective communication, and the ability to manage priorities and deadlines are essential. You should be confident using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Experience with Intelliflo (IO) and platforms such as Selecta Pension, Financial Express, Trigold, Assureweb, ExWeb, MiCap, and major investment platforms would be advantageous.
Several years of paraplanning experience is preferred. RO qualifications are desirable but not essential where relevant experience can be clearly demonstrated. Full support is provided for ongoing professional development, including funded study materials and examination costs through recognised CII learning pathways.
