Safety & Criticality Engineer | Northwest | £65k–£85k + benefits
We’re looking for a Safety & Criticality Engineer to join a leading nuclear and energy organisation. This is a hands-on role supporting criticality and nuclear hazard assessments for complex engineering projects.
You’ll be:
* Performing design safety analysis for nuclear and high-hazard systems.
* Conducting and following up on HAZOP, HAZAN, HAZID studies.
* Producing criticality safety and dose calculations using MONK and MCNP.
* Reviewing and contributing to safety documentation and licence submissions.
* Providing technical support to project teams and customers on safety matters.
We’re looking for someone with:
* Degree in a relevant scientific or engineering discipline.
* 5+ years’ experience in safety analysis, ideally with criticality focus.
* Hands-on experience with MONK, MCNP, or equivalent tools.
* Strong communication and organisational skills.
* Eligibility for or holding DV Security Clearance.
* Flexible approach, occasional travel or out-of-hours work.
