Consultant Psychiatrist Adult Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder

Overview

Cheshire and Wirral Partnership Foundation NHS Trust is seeking an experienced consultant psychiatrist with expertise in neurodevelopmental conditions to join an expanding adult ADHD service across Cheshire.

• Assess, diagnose, treat adult ADHD, including patients aged 16+ transferred from paediatric services.
• Initiate, titrate, optimise medication and conduct ongoing reviews.
• Provide clinical leadership to the multidisciplinary team and advise on care planning.
• Offer consultation to primary‑care and specialist mental‑health services.
• Support service development, quality improvement and partnership working.

Essential:

• MBChB/MBBS and membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (or equivalent).
• CCST/CCT in Psychiatry or within 6 months of completing CCT.
• Fully registered with GMC; on Specialist Register or within 6 months.
• Experience working with neurodevelopmental disorders, especially ADHD.
• Commitment to continuing professional development.

Desirable:

• Higher degree in medical education, research or management.
• Additional clinical or postgraduate qualification.
• Good standing with GMC and no warnings or conditions on practice.
• Broad specialist experience relevant to NHS services.

Full‑time, permanent consultant grade. Salary £109,725 to £145,478 per annum. All new starters commence on one fixed start date each month.
