CAD Designer – Façade / Glazing (Essential Experience Required)

We are recruiting for an experienced CAD Designer with proven façade and glazing experience to join a long-established manufacturing business in Cheshire.

Please note:

Applications without façade, curtain walling or glazing systems experience will not be considered. This is not a general CAD position.
With a Senior Designer retiring, this is a structured handover opportunity within a stable team and established workload.

The Role
 
* Produce detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings for façade and glazing systems
 
* Design curtain walling, aluminium systems and bespoke glazing packages
 
* Develop technical construction details from architectural drawings
 
* Ensure drawings are fabrication-ready, accurate and compliant
 
* Check tolerances, interfaces and buildability
 
* Liaise with engineers, fabrication teams and installation teams
This is a technically involved role, not a drawing-trace position.
Essential Requirements
 
* Demonstrable experience designing façade / glazing / curtain walling systems
 
* Strong AutoCAD skills
 
* Experience working with aluminium or façade system suppliers
 
* Ability to interpret architectural and structural drawings
 
* Experience producing manufacturing or fabrication drawings

Desirable
 
* 3D CAD or Inventor experience
 
* Background within a manufacturing environment
