New Store - Produce Team Member (Clerk, Floor Service) - Part Time - Cheshire, CT
Whole Foods Market is hiring for a Part‑Time Produce Team Member at our newly opened store in Cheshire, CT, starting Early 2026. This role focuses on receiving, preparing, stocking, and selling produce while upholding Whole Foods Market standards and delivering excellent customer service.
Base Pay Range$17.50/hr - $25.40/hr
Job Responsibilities- Keep cases and shelves clean, well‑stocked, and presentable; rotate products and remove out‑of‑date items.
- Assist the Team Leader with organizing and displaying volume and seasonal items.
- Monitor spoilage, report to buyers, Team Leaders and shift supervisor, and complete spoilage, sampling, temperature and sweep worksheets.
- Help with periodic inventory checks.
- Arrive on time, groomed, dressed and ready to work; attend all scheduled shifts and necessary trainings.
- Provide excellent customer service, address customer needs promptly, and apply suggestive selling techniques; respond to phone and pager calls courteously.
- Maximize sales through proper product prep, storage, rotation, stocking and merchandising.
- Follow all Weights & Measures, health & sanitation and safe work procedures; ensure compliance.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment; keep equipment in accordance with WFM cleanliness and safety standards.
- Perform opening, mid‑day and closing duties as assigned; ensure accurate signage and pricing.
- Report safety hazards and violations immediately.
- Perform other duties assigned by store, regional or national leadership.
- Ability to sell proactively.
- Knowledge of all produce products; understanding of organic versus conventional produce.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team.
- Clear, respectful delivery of information to Team Members, customers and vendors.
- Meet customer service expectations in all interactions.
- Follow directions, procedures and effective time management.

- Compliance with WFM quality goals.
- No prior retail experience required.
- Lift up to 50 pounds.
- Stand/walk 6–8 hours in an 8‑hour shift.
- Fine manipulation, pushing, pulling and single grasping.
- Perform bending, twisting, squatting, reaching motions.
- Expose to FDA approved cleaning chemicals.
- Operate in temperatures ranging from free‑zing (90°F).
- Work in wet and dry conditions.
- Work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays.
- Use tools and equipment such as knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks and heavy machinery.
- May use ladders.
