The hospital operates a 24-hour service, ensuring that patients receive dedicated care around the clock. Importantly, the pricing remains consistent, whether it’s day or night, for both inpatient and outpatient services.
As a night veterinary surgeon, you will encounter a diverse range of cases while managing the inpatient service. The state-of-the-art facility is equipped with diagnostic tools such as ultrasound, radiography, and CT. You will work alongside a fully staffed, experienced night nursing team, ensuring you have the support needed throughout the shift, which runs from 18:30 to 07:30. The team includes certificate holders in Surgery, Internal Medicine, and Ophthalmology, reflecting the commitment to excellence.
Night work offers flexibility. The employer is open to discussing rota options to fit personal commitments. With a 24-hour service spanning three hospitals, you will never be alone; the collaborative environment ensures that you can consult with fellow vets regarding cases. The role is based in North Cheshire, close to both Liverpool and Manchester, offering a great location to live and work.
Responsibilities- Provide emergency and critical care as part of a 24-hour hospital team.
- Manage the inpatient service during night shifts (18:30 – 07:30).
- Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team and consult with day staff as needed.
- Utilise diagnostic tools such as ultrasound, radiography, and CT as required.
- Contribute to a supportive, high-quality patient and owner experience.
- A 7:14 rota (average of 31.1 hours a week).
