Schedule

Monday – Friday; hours flexible within office hours (between 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM). 100% on‑site.

Job Summary

The Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining the general ledger, reconciling financial records, and supporting month‑end and year‑end close processes. This role assists with budgeting, tax compliance, audit preparation, and cross‑departmental coordination to ensure accurate, timely, and GAAP‑compliant financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities General Ledger & Close
  • Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, deferrals, and reclassifications.
  • Support and manage assigned month‑end and year‑end close activities to ensure timely, GAAP‑compliant financial reporting.
Account Reconciliations
  • Perform regular reconc coba of bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts (AP, AR, payroll, etc.).edas
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies to maintain the accuracy of financial records.
Financial Reporting
  • Assist in the preparation of internal and external financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes as needed.
Compliance, Tax & Audit Support
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies.
  • Prepare schedules and supporting documentation for external audits.
  • Assist with tax filings and regulatory reporting requirements.
Fixed Asset Management
  • Maintain fixed asset sub‑ledgers, track capital expenditures, and calculate depreciation.
Variance Analysis
  • Analyze actual financial results against budgets and forecasts.
  • Identify and explain significant variances to leadership.
Collaboration & Support
  • Work closely with multiple departments to gather financial information and support business initiatives.
  • Perform other accounting‑related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • 2–5 years of professional accounting experience.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems such as Epicor, Sage, or Quick Books.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP.
  • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work effectively under pressure.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
