Join Sherwin‑Williams as a Delivery Driver – DOT. This role focuses on delivering products to customers from Sherwin‑Williams stores using box and flat‑bed trucks.
Base pay range$17.00/hr – $17.00/hr
Job DescriptionDeliver products to customers from Sherwin‑Williams stores. Ensure deliveries are prepared correctly, packed, and securely transported. Provide excellent customer service and maintain the store vehicle. Work primarily at Store #703629, 100 Medical Parkway East, Chesapeake, VA 23320, and may serve surrounding stores within a 30‑mile radius.
Security and safety protocols apply; access to cash, electronic payments, and high‑value items may be supervised or unsupervised. A criminal history review is required to protect the company and its stakeholders.
Responsibilities- Prepare deliveries to meet customer requirements efficiently.
- Load customer orders properly onto the truck.
- Complete appropriate forms and paperwork.
- Transport and deliver items to customers safely and on time.
- Maintain the store vehicle and notify supervisors of repair or servicing needs.
- Provide excellent customer service, answer questions, and handle complaints.
- Adhere to assigned routes and schedules.
- Maintain a safe driving record and abide by transportation laws.
- Prepare reports related to deliveries.
- Operate equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material‑handling devices.
- Complete miscellaneous store tasks, including warehouse duties, tinting, and mixing customer orders.
- At least 21 years of age.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Valid, unrestricted Driver’s License.
- Valid Medical Examiner’s Certificate (MEC) from a DOT‑licensed examiner or willingness to obtain one within five business days of offer.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. routinely and optionally up to 70 lbs.
- Availability to work all scheduled hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Proficient English for communication, understanding traffic signs and official inquiries, and completing reports.
- For internal applicants, a minimum “meets expectations” rating on most recent performance appraisal.
- For internal applicants, completion of all required HR Cloud eLearning courses.
- High School diploma or GED.
- At least one year of experience as a delivery driver.
- At least one year of experience operating material‑handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks).
- Previous experience selling paint or related products.
- Multilingual ability, in particular Spanish.
