Mechanic

Sunbelt Rentals—the fastest growing rental business in North America—is seeking a Mechanic. This mechanic/technician role performs preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on equipment in the safest, most effective way possible to avoid downtime. Our fleet varies by location but primarily includes Aerial Work Platforms, general construction tools and equipment. Some locations may have large-scale power generators, pumps, HVAC systems, and oil/gas related equipment.

Responsibilities include:

• Perform preventive maintenance and diagnostics
• Repair equipment to minimize downtime
• Utilize safety-focused practices in all tasks

Education or experience that prepares you for success:

• High school diploma or GED required; some trade school or equivalent training desired
• 3 to 5 years of mechanic experience with diesel/heavy equipment or specialty lines equipment (large-scale generators, pumps, HVAC or Oil & Gas equipment) strongly preferred

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• May need to provide mechanic's tools of the trade
• Advanced knowledge of hydraulic systems & troubleshooting
• Advanced knowledge of electrical systems & troubleshooting
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Bilingual ability may be required based on location

Base Pay Range: $20.96 - 28.82

Benefits eligibility begins on the first of the month following 30 days from start date. Paid time off includes: 12-25 vacation days (depending on years of service), 5 sick days, 6 holidays, 2 half-day holidays, 2 floating holidays, 1 inclusion day, and 1 volunteer day, subject to company policy.
