Heavy Equipment Field Mechanic – Vermeer All Roads in Chesapeake, VA

If you are a skilled mechanic used to working independently and traveling to customer sites, we want to talk to you! Vermeer All Roads in Chesapeake, VA is searching for a Heavy Equipment Field Mechanic with previous experience to cover the eastern Virginia territory (Hampton Roads/Chesapeake). In this field-based role, you’ll travel to customer sites to diagnose, service, and repair Vermeer machinery and components.

$28-40/hr (based on experience) Full Time M-F

• Service, repair, and recondition Vermeer equipment as directed by the Branch Service Manager
• Diagnose malfunctions in hydraulic and electrical systems
• Recommend appropriate repairs and prepare accurate estimates
• Perform welding/fabrication as required
• Apply current industry/technical advancements in daily work
• Maintain accurate, detailed records of all repairs performed
• Communicate with OEM/factory for technical assistance
• Perform other duties as assigned

• High school diploma or GED
• Hands-on hydraulic and electrical troubleshooting experience
• Welding experience
• Ability to travel daily within assigned territory for field service calls
• Excellent written/verbal communication and customer service skills
• Positive attitude: ability to multitask, prioritize, and work efficiently
• Valid driver’s license and insurable by our carrier (clean driving record)
